Stork Cellramic, Inc. a division of Stork Materials Technology to sell Alphasonics ultrasonic cleaning equipment.

Milwaukee, WI, - April 11, 2005 – Anilox roll manufacturer Stork Cellramic, Inc. a division of Stork Materials Technology, has reached an agreement to market and sell Alphasonics Alphasound cleaning equipment in North America.

“As a leading anilox roll supplier, we are often asked to identify the best cleaning methods for our rolls. Recently, the answer became very clear with the advent of the “Supersweep” technology from Alphasonics. I believe that Alphasonics has developed the best method for cleaning and maintaining anilox rolls available on the market, which is why we have partnered with them to represent their products” said Mat Jones, Sales & Marketing Manager for anilox rolls.

Ultrasonic cleaners have developed a reputation for being very effective but potentially damaging to the cells of the anilox. However, the new Supersweep generator technology from Alphasonics eliminates the hot spots generated by the older technology fixed frequency ultrasonic cleaners by controlling and varying the cleaning frequency. In addition, Alphasonics has developed “Alphasound”, a dual frequency system that allows for daily cleaning utilizing the softer, thorough high frequency cleaning system in combination with the more aggressive, yet gentle cleaning of lower frequency.

"Another reason we decided to partner with Alphasonics and their impressive new technology is because of the ability of their machines to clean high line screen anilox rolls. The Alphasonics machines have been tested and proven to be safe for line screens up to 1500 lines per inch (LPI). Additionally, we are now in the process of testing engravings up to 2500 LPI. None of the other methods that we know of have the ability to clean as effectively on this microscopic level," added Jones.

Strong evidence has emerged that suggests that the use of Alphasound for anilox cleaning offers great benefits in terms of improved quality. For the last four years, Alphasound users have collected every single print award in the UK for labels—first, second and third, as well as several “best in shows.” In all, Alphasound users have scooped up more than 100 print awards since 2001, including:

  • “Best in Show,” FTA 2004
  • "Best in show," AFTA (Asia Flexo Assoc.)
  • "Best Label" in India
  • "Best in Show," EFTA (UK)
