Stork Cellramic receives Environmental Excellence Award

"Stork Cellramic Inc., an anilox roll supplier, was recognized primarily for its environmental stewardship. While this company has made a great deal of progress in reclaiming waste materials, its environmental contributions extend far beyond its Milwaukee-based manufacturing facility to the entire flexographic community.

"Stork Cellramic Inc. has been active in promoting environmental awareness through a variety of media. Articles submitted by Stork on increasing profitability through environmental awareness have appeared in FlexoŽ Magazine. Ideas included donating or selling old office furniture and donating, recycling or selling old computer equipment.  More specific articles on anilox rolls included selecting rolls to reduce make-ready waste.

"One of Stork’s more memorable efforts included Regional Sales Manager David Lanska appearing as “Captain Environment” at the 2001 National Environmental, Health & Safety Conference. In addition to being entertaining, his speech included many useful ideas and suggestions that could be adopted by flexo printers and suppliers.

"Stork also has played an important roll in the development of recent Foundation of FTA publications, including The Flexo Environment and The In-Plant Self-Assessment for Flexographic Printers."
